Kleinstein · Chardonnay DOC 2022

  The “Kleinstein” Chardonnay from the Bolzano Winery is a prime example of the fine art of South Tyrolean viticulture. Its grapes thrive on the warm porphyry slopes of the Ritten above Bolzano, at an altitude of around 550 meters. These special locations offer ideal conditions for Chardonnay, which develops its full potential here. The name “Kleinstein” refers to the Kleinsteiner Hof in Signat near Bolzano. After selective harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel to preserve their freshness and fruitiness. The wine is then aged on the fine lees, which gives it additional depth and complexity.

In the glass, the “Kleinstein” Chardonnay presents itself in a bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet seduces with exotic aromas of pineapple, mango, and honeydew melon, accompanied by delicate notes of passion fruit, banana, and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is elegant and fresh, with well-integrated acidity and a hint of minerality that gives it a pleasant length. This Chardonnay is a versatile accompaniment to fish dishes, appetizers, vegetarian dishes, and is also excellent as an aperitif.
