The entry-level Lagrein from the Bolzano winery is also a classic: strong, concentrated ruby red color with lighter edges in the glass. The bouquet is reminiscent of ripe fruit such as cherry as well as a hint of vanilla and bread crust. Compact on the palate, with fine tannins and crisp acidity. - Gerardo [TS12/22]

Gerardo's Notes: Lagrein is a native red wine variety of South Tyrol and the Bolzano Winery. The grapes thrive in the valley floor around the city of Bolzano and the district of Gries, with high temperature fluctuations between day and night. The grape variety produces colorful and full-bodied wines of typicality. The 'Grieser' is the South Tyrolean red wine par excellence and is predestined for the cuisine of South Tyrol consisting of meat dishes, bacon and sausages.
