The Lagrein Riserva 'Taber' has an impenetrable garnet red color. The aroma is reminiscent of ripe cherry fruit, some vanilla and cocoa. Characteristic, powerful and harmonious on the palate, with a velvety richness. A great Riserva, which is one of the best Lagrein in South Tyrol. - Gerardo - Gerardo

'Rich, impenetrable ruby-violet. Intense nose, opens with subtle spicy nuances, then rich blackberry and dark cherry. Firm and sturdy on the palate, showing plenty of fleshy fruit, tightly woven tannins, describing a wide arc, rich, long finish.' - Falstaff

Gerardo's Notes: 'Lagrein, one of the typical red wine varieties of South Tyrol and the Cantina Bolzano, thrives in the valley floor around Bolzano with high temperature differences between day and night. The very old vines produce a wine of above average quality, with concentrated but velvety tannins, juicy fruit and a robust body. The vines, which are more than 80 years old, grow on warm, sandy alluvial soils in Gries near Bolzano, 250 meters above sea level. After traditional red wine fermentation in wooden barrels, the young wine is aged for about one year in French barriques. The Riserva Taber is powerful and harmonious with a velvety richness, long-lasting and elegant. Definitely one of the top wines from South Tyrol.' - Gerardo
