Corale · Isola dei Nuraghi Rosso IGT 2017

The new premium red wine Corale from Cantina Oliena grows in the company's own vineyards on Mount Supramonte at an altitude of 600 meters. The Supramonte mountain range, the second highest mountain range in Sardinia, stretches along the central east coast and offers ideal growing conditions for the Cannonau grape variety. The barren soil of Mesozoic limestone and the dry, Mediterranean climate ensure incomparable quality here.

The vineyards of Cantina Oliena benefit from the intense sun, the cooling mistral wind and the salty coastal air. Traditional wine-growing methods and in-depth knowledge of the Cannonau grape variety meet modern winemaking skills here, resulting in a unique wine.

The grapes for the Corale are carefully harvested and selected by hand in the third week of September. During vinification, the must remains in contact with the skins for around 20 days at temperatures of 26-28 °C. The Corale then matures for 12 months in French oak barrels and rests in the bottle for at least 3 months after bottling before it is ready to enjoy.

On the nose, Corale combines intense aromas of red fruits, plums and sour cherries with subtle balsamic notes of the Mediterranean scrub. A hint of vanilla and sweet spices harmoniously round off the bouquet. On the palate, this wine is dry, full-bodied and rich in tannins, making it a remarkable pleasure for any wine lover.

I Sodi di S. Niccolò · IGT 2017

I Sodi di San Niccolo - the flagship of Castellare di Castellina - comes from the vineyard around the church of San Niccolo: this almost pure Sangioveto (Sangiovese) is complemented with Malvasia Nera, both from vines almost 30 years old. The color is an intense ruby red with garnet highlights. The aroma is fruity and reminiscent of wild berries, underlined by spices and some vanilla. This wine reached the top 100 of Wine Specator magazine several times and also received the coveted award of 3 glasses in the wine guide Gambero Rosso.

Barren soils are a basic requirement for high quality wines. Therefore, the sites where the vine has to fight for water and food are the most sought-after for Tuscan winemakers. Going with the flow has never been the intention of the Campedelli family, which is behind the Marion winery. This is evident not only in the unusual for the Veneto grape varieties such as Teroldego, but also in the fantasy cuvee 'Calto'. This prestigious wine is nothing other than a very personal interpretation of Amarone, which, however, cannot be marketed as such due to legal regulations. The proportion of Teroldego provides additional fire, accordingly, this wine is intense:
