  The “Puntscheit” Kerner from the Bolzano Winery is a living testament to South Tyrolean winemaking, capturing the alpine freshness of the region in a glass. The vines thrive in the steep, sun-drenched slopes of the central Eisack Valley and the Ritten at an altitude of around 600 to 800 meters, where the light, gravelly soils and continental climate provide ideal conditions for the Kerner grape. This cross between Trollinger and Riesling, first cultivated around 1930 in Weinsberg, Germany, unfolds its full potential here. After selective harvesting in October, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in the same containers to preserve the wine's freshness and fruitiness.

In the glass, the “Puntscheit” Kerner presents itself in a clear, straw-yellow robe with greenish reflections. The bouquet seduces with an intense, slightly spicy nutmeg note, accompanied by fruity aromas of peach, apricot, and mandarin. On the palate, the wine is dry, full-bodied, and juicy, with a lively freshness and a harmonious balance between fruit and acidity. This Kerner is an ideal accompaniment to light starters, cold meat platters, egg dishes, mushroom dishes, freshwater fish, and steamed seafood, and is also excellent as an aperitif. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
