  The “448 s.l.m.” Cuvée Rosso from the Girlan winery is an elegant red wine cuvée made from three varieties typical of the region: Lagrein, Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir), and Vernatsch. The name refers to the altitude of the winery's historic estate, 448 meters above sea level—a location with limestone and glacial soils that give the wine its distinctive minerality and freshness. After careful hand harvesting, the wine is fermented in stainless steel so that the original fruit comes into its own.

In the glass, the wine displays a lively ruby red color with fine garnet red reflections. The nose develops aromas of wild berries and cherries, as well as a subtle spiciness of cloves, reflecting the characterful terroir. On the palate, the cuvée is smooth yet structured, with juicy fruit, soft tannins, and a lingering freshness that makes it a versatile accompaniment to meat dishes, cold cuts, and mature cheeses. - Gerardo [TS10/25]
