Winkl · Sauvignon DOC 2020

  The “Winkl” Sauvignon from the Terlan Winery is a stylish, high-quality white wine that showcases the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety in its traditional South Tyrolean interpretation. Vinified exclusively from this variety and grown on the porphyry and limestone-rich soils of the “Winkl” hillside near Terlan, its name already reveals its origin. The grapes are carefully hand-picked, gently pressed, and fermented at a controlled temperature; some of the wine is then aged in wooden barrels, the rest in stainless steel, combining freshness with gentle depth.

In the glass, the Winkl reveals a light straw yellow color with delicate greenish reflections. On the nose, it unfolds a delicate interplay of exotic fruits such as apricot, mandarin, and passion fruit, complemented by floral notes such as elderflower and herbal hints of nettle and mint—an olfactory testament to its origin and style. On the palate, this elegant fruit combines with a distinctly noticeable minerality and subtle spice, supported by a finely drawn structure and a long-lasting finish.
