Langhe Favorita DOC 2025

  Favorita is a fascinating indigenous grape variety of Piedmont that lived in the shadows for a long time and was almost forgotten. Genetically identical to the more famous Vermentino (and the Ligurian Pigato), it has nevertheless adapted over centuries to the continental climate and sandy soils of the Roero region. This adaptation gives it a unique profile: while coastal Vermentino often appears saltier and broader, the Roero Favorita presents itself as fresher, tauter, and defined by a fine mineral elegance.

In terms of taste, Favorita impresses with its immense drinkability and vibrancy. It yields wines with a crisp acidity structure and intense aromas of citrus fruits, green apples, and white blossoms. Characteristic of this variety is the slightly tart, almond-like finish, which makes it an excellent companion for food—especially light appetizers or fish dishes.
