  The “Vinschgau” Vernatsch from the Meran Winery in South Tyrol expresses the alpine origins of its vines with charming understatement: they grow in the upper valley of the Adige River on slopes with weathered slate, granite, and gneiss—soils that produce special concentration due to their barrenness and wind. The processing follows a clear line: after careful hand harvesting, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by brief aging in large wooden barrels to combine freshness with gentle depth.

In the glass, the wine unfolds a bright ruby red color with subtle violet reflections and inviting clarity. The nose reveals fine notes of violets and almonds, accompanied by red berries - a bouquet that makes the terroir audible.
