This classic South Tyrolean Vernatsch thrives on a hillside site in Marling around the picturesque Ansitz Schickenburg. Bright ruby; compact, of yeast, bread crust and some violets; juicy and round in the attack and course, pronounced cherry notes in the finish, exceedingly harmonious. Gerardo's Notes: Autochthonous and deeply rooted: Vernatsch has been native to the area around Merano for centuries. However, only a few grapes from old vines make it into the spicy Schickenburg. A true classic with smoked meats.
