Abtei · Blauburgunder Riserva DOC 2022

  The “Abtei Muri” Pinot Nero Riserva from the Muri-Gries monastery winery combines the alpine origins of the Eppan slopes with Burgundian finesse. Made from 100% Pinot Nero, the grapes come from sun-drenched plots with limestone and gravel-rich soils at an altitude of around 500 meters—conditions that give the variety depth and structure. Careful hand harvesting is followed by a controlled stainless steel fermentation process, then maturation in small wooden barrels - an aging process that keeps the fruit feminine while producing a fine-grained tannin structure.

In the glass, this Riserva is a light ruby color with violet reflections, a visual promise of elegance. The bouquet unfolds aromas of ripe cherries, wild berries, and plum jam, complemented by subtle notes of walnut and wood, which give the wine a chocolatey spice and depth. On the palate, juicy fruit combines with polished tannins and a clear minerality—the finish is long, present, and juicy in texture. This Pinot Noir Riserva is excellent with veal, poultry, or aged cheeses—and stylishly demonstrates how South Tyrolean origins and Burgundian elegance blend harmoniously in the glass. - Gerardo [TS10/23]
