'Agresto" - a distinguished cuvee made from the four noble red grape varieties of Friuli (Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet-Franc, Refosco as well as Pinot Nero) is produced with great effort and only in good years. After the grapes ripen at different times, the base wines are vinified and aged individually. The aging in barrique barrels lasts between six and 15 months, depending on the grape variety. After the base wines have been blended, the wine is aged for another two years in the bottle before being released for sale. The result is a fine, delicate red wine of noble acidity and complex, broad bouquet. - Gerardo [TS10/09]
