Didacus Rosso, made from pure Cabernet Franc, represents the elegance and vision of the Planeta family and is an impressive ambassador of Sicilian viticulture. It comes from the vineyards of Contrada Ulmo, where the family has been cultivating French grape varieties since the 1980s - a place often referred to as the “Bolgheri of the south”. In the glass, it has a deep dark color that hints at its intensity and depth. The bouquet initially reveals floral nuances of blue flowers, followed by concentrated aromas of redcurrants, plums and liquorice, underpinned by a hint of minerality.
On the palate, Didacus delights with a silky texture and a powerful wave of black fruits, supported by an invigorating acidity that lifts the wine's expression. The finish is characterized by tart wild berries, mocha and a layer of sweet tannins that combine structure and freshness. The warmth of the vintage gives it a lush volume without losing its balance.
