This Sicilian Merlot has an intense ruby red color with light red reflections. The bouquet seduces with aromas of blackcurrants, ripe plums and a hint of candied violets. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety and dense, with well-balanced tannins that give the wine structure and depth. The lingering finish rounds off the experience and reveals the elegance and complexity of this Merlot. - Gerardo [TS10/19]

Gerardo's Notes: The Ulmo vineyard is the place (Sito) where Planeta began its wine activities. The Merlot produced here represents the best characteristics of this noble grape variety. It has a powerful tannic structure, enhanced by the long aging in oak. Balsamic notes, medicinal herbs and violets. Perfect with meat dishes and aged cheeses.
