  The Polvanera winery became known for its powerful yet elegant Primitivo varieties “16” and “17”, which caused an international sensation. However, the estate's true bestseller is and remains the Primitivo “14” - a single-varietal interpretation of the grape variety that reflects the terroir of Gioia del Colle in a particularly accessible way. The grapes come from old vines from the Marchesana vineyard, whose iron-rich, deep red soils with underlying limestone rocks give the wine its typical structure and minerality.

The Primitivo 14 has a dark ruby red color with violet reflections and is full of notes of dark berries, cherries, dried herbs and a hint of graphite. On the palate, it is juicy, fresh and supported by fine tannins - a balanced wine full of character with a long, pleasant finish. In contrast to the more opulent representatives from Manduria, the Gioia del Colle style is more compact, spicier and somewhat more straightforward - without losing any of its depth or drinking pleasure.
