Formerly 'De Piano', the Fallwind Merlot-Cabernet is the first red wine cuvée of St. Michael-Eppan from the grape varieties Merlot and Cabernet, both of which have been native to the vineyards of South Tyrol since 1850. For the Merlot-Cabernet Fallwind, they are vinified separately. They are blended together after one year of aging in wooden barrels. The soft tannins of the Merlot and the strength of the Cabernet make this wine highly sought after even by demanding wine lovers. - Gerardo [TS06/20]
