Until the late 1970s, Pinot Blanc and smaller proportions of Chardonnay were usually vinified as a mixed blend as Pinot Blanc. In 1982, Chardonnay was first vinified as a single varietal in South Tyrol by the St. Michael-Eppan winery and experienced a tremendous boom. It presents itself wonderfully juicy, inviting and with persistent consistency. - Gerardo [TS10/16]
