Camigliano | Tuscany
The history of the Camigliano winery began in 1957 and has been continuously owned by the Ghezzi family ever since. In 1959 the first Brunello vineyards were planted and the first harvest took place in 1965. The winery consists of two facilities: an old one under the walls of the Fattoria, used for the storage of old vintages, wine tastings and the tasting of local products, and a new one equipped with the most modern technology, completely underground to eliminate any environmental impact. The arrangement of the working levels has been made according to specific criteria that allow the vinification process to cascade and reduce the use of pumps to a minimum, so that the sensory characteristics of the wine are even better preserved. - Gerardo [TS03/23]
"With passionate commitment, Gualtiero and Laura Ghezzi have led not only their beautiful estate to new heights, but also the small village of Camigliano as a whole. In the course of the extensive reconstruction and restoration work, the cellar was completely redesigned and now allows much better work thanks to modern technology. Finally, the wave of renovation also included the Brunello holdings, a total of about 60 hectares, settled on clay and silt soils with quite a high proportion of marl and fossil layers. The wines gain their rather classic appearance in barrels of 30 and 60 hectoliters." - Gambero Rosso

This Chianti from the Colli Senesi area is made from the youngest vineyards of Camigliano, which brings out well the freshness and fruitiness of the Tuscan Sangiovese.
