Sangiovese di Romagna Superiore Riserva DOC 2019 (Bio)

Sophisticated Sangiovese Riserva from the Bertinoro terroir in Emilia-Romagna. Aging in French oak barrels for 14 months highlights the substance of this wine: strong ruby red color with slightly lightening edges. On the nose, red fruits and spices, accompanied by notes of licorice and vanilla beans. On the palate of some astringency, noticeable tannin and yet soft texture. - Gerardo [TS01/20]

Conus · Lagrein Mitterberg IGT 2019 (Bio)

This single-varietal Lagrein borrows its name from the Margreider Schuttkegel. These soils are the prerequisite for a fruity and round Lagrein. The color of the Conus is a rich cherry red with ruby reflections. The aroma is of plums as well as some licorice and cocoa. Powerful in the drink, balanced, juicy and rich in tannins.

Le Difese is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, which is aged for 12 months in French and American barriques. The color is a lively garnet red, with aromas of wild berries and plums, as well as light floral notes and some undergrowth. Purple red with violet tones. Lively and typical of the Nero d'Avola of the Noto area: red fruits such as plums, currants and licorice. This is followed by carob, peppercorns and fig preserves, also mustard. Here it is not the weight of the tannin that matters, but rather its density. The namesake giants are a reference to the giants of Mont'e Prama, formerly freestanding sandstone cult statues of the Sardinian nuragic culture. In 1974, the farmer Sisinnio Poddi plowed out the head of one of these statues on the Sinis Peninsula. The forty years of excavation campaigns brought to light other statues, nuraghe models and wall remains. The age of the giants of Mont'e Prama indicates that the oldest free-standing large sculpture in Europe was created in Sardinia, even before a similar development began in Greece.

Cabernet and Merlot are recognized worldwide as high-quality grape varieties. For the production of Cabernet-Merlot Sanct Valentin only grapes from particularly sunny vineyards are used. The yield is extremely low, the grape varieties are vinified individually. First produced in 2013, Cabernet-Merlot Sanct Valentin is a premium, extremely complex red wine with fine tannins. Arzio · Merlot-Cabernet DOC 2019

The Arzio comes from the Arzenhof which was built by Count d'Arsio e Vasio. In the glass, this Cabernet-Merlot blend, reminiscent of a Bordeaux blend, is a brilliant ruby red. The bouquet is complex, with hints of fresh cassis and cranberry, as well as balsamic and earthy notes. Firm and punchy on the palate, with smooth and very fine-grained tannins. For Amarone della Valpolicella Punta 470 only the best grapes from vineyards in the hills of Montecchia di Crosara are used: Intense garnet red color. On the nose notes of ripe berry fruits, blackberries, currants and cherries, well combined with spicy notes due to aging in wood. Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione is made exclusively from a selection of the best Sangiovese grapes from the eponymous winery in the heart of Chianti Classico. The area has been known for its wine production since the year 1000. The vineyards extend on calcareous soils with average clay content at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level.
