Exclusively from blue grapes Italian red wine is produced. Red wine differs not only in the grape varieties used, but also in the production process. The pressed, initially more colorless juice of the grapes undergoes alcoholic fermentation during the mash, which, among other things, dissolves the red color pigments. Short maceration results in red wines with a fruity character, which tend to be drunk young and not stored. As the maceration progresses, the amount of dissolved color pigments, tannins and phenols increases, allowing for the development of a great storage wine. - Gerardo [TS06/22]

Cabernet-Sauvignon MAGNUM IGT 2019 (1er Geschenkbox), Marion, Venetien

Cabernet-Sauvignon MAGNUM IGT 2019 (1er Geschenkbox)

Marion, Veneto

A magnum bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from Marion in an original gift box:

This international grape variety produces a unique wine due to the interaction of microclimate and drying method: impenetrable black-violet color with only slightly lightening edges. On the nose of sour cherries, tobacco, toasted almonds and some cocoa. On the palate of compact structure due to the taut tannin framework and the fine-nerved acidity. - Gerardo [TS04/20]

"The Cabernet Sauvignon - another vine little used in this country - is produced from grapes fully ripened on the vine, lightly rosined." - Gambero Rosso

Includes a gift box (color may vary).

´Vigna del Sorbo´ · Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2018, Fontodi, Toskana

Vigna del Sorbo · Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2018 (Bio)

Fontodi, Tuscany

Bright ruby color in the glass. Aroma of blackberries and black cherries, accented by rose petals and some licorice. The palate is rich, harmonious and tannic, with a persistent finish. - Gerardo [TS01/19]

"Intense and concentrated garnet ruby. The aromatic profile is clearly articulated and of good complexity, with notes of amarena cherry, violet, blond tobacco and cardamom. Salty on the palate, powerful, with youthful but not aggressive tannins and an excellent, long finish." - Doctor Wine (Daniele Cernilli)

Lush, deep ruby. Lush and fleshy nose, scents of blackberry and ripe plum, some cinnamon in the background. Fleshy and gripping on the palate as well, lots of dark berry fruit, opens with present, dense tannin, still a bit harsh on the finish." - Falstaff

´Alteo´ · Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2015, Fasoli Gino, Venetien
Alteo · Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2015 (Bio)

Fasoli Gino, Veneto

This Amarone della Valpolicella shows great structure, inviting and elegant. The full and warm bouquet shows notes of dried fruit, black pepper, coffee, licorice and vanilla. The palate is soft and enveloping, voluminous and long lasting. - Gerardo [TS05/16]

This wine from the Prestige line of the Fasoli brothers is the result of decades of research into the Valpolicella terroir. The selection of suitable vineyards and their exposure, that understanding of the microclimate and the extremely limited grape material allow a truly great wine.

"Brilliant ruby with garnet rim. Clear nose with rich notes of prunes, some molasses, plus lots of cloves. Lush and broad on the palate, showing a lot of sweetness, then opens with grippy tannins, but in the finish remains a somewhat sweet mouth." - Falstaff

´I Sodi di S. Niccolò´ · IGT 2018, Castellare di Castellina, Toskana
I Sodi di S. Niccolò · IGT 2018

Castellare di Castellina, Tuscany

I Sodi di San Niccolo - the flagship of Castellare di Castellina - comes from the vineyard around the church of San Niccolo: this almost pure Sangioveto (Sangiovese) is complemented with Malvasia Nera, both from vines almost 30 years old. The color is an intense ruby red with garnet highlights. The aroma is fruity and reminiscent of wild berries, underlined by spices and some vanilla. This wine reached the top 100 of Wine Specator magazine several times and also received the coveted award of 3 glasses in the wine guide Gambero Rosso.

Barren soils are a basic requirement for high quality wines. Therefore, the sites where the vine has to fight for water and food are the most sought-after for Tuscan winemakers. The sites called 'i sodi' are in complete contrast to the 'campi', the fields. On the 'sodi' grow the most dense and refined wines. - Gerardo [TS11/19]

"The 2018 I Sodi di San Niccolò is the most elegant Sodi I have ever tasted, and I have tasted them all. Sodi can be quite bruiser in its youth, as the tannins are often imposing, but the 2018 is impressive because there is more than enough fruit to balance things out. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and gravel build in a Sodi endowed with mind-blowing purity and exceptional finesse. Superb!" - Antonio Galloni (Vinous)

´Weingarten Klosteranger´ · Lagrein Riserva DOC 2018, Muri Gries, Südtirol
Weingarten Klosteranger · Lagrein Riserva DOC 2018

Muri Gries, South Tyrol

Klosteranger is the heart of Muri-Gries, a historic single vineyard site protected by the ancient walls of the monastery. Here the Lagrein Riserva vineyard Klosteranger thrives in the best terroir: an expressive site wine as a result of an authentic interpretation of terroir and grape variety, concentrated and straightforward. With it we recommend braised game dishes, but also tender roast beef, the classic Sunday roast, a Martinigansl or spicy cheese dishes. - Gerardo [TS06/19]

"Rich, deep dark ruby with violet hues. Very inviting and intense nose of violets and elderberries, then tobacco and dark chocolate. Spreads out great on the attack and course, yet remains supple and juicy, surprisingly fine-meshed tannins, reverberating like a fine cigar box." - Falstaff

"Dark garnet red. The nose is complex, deep with hints of ink, black pepper and sour cherry. The structure is complex but well defined, nervous with juicy tannins and a spectacular progression. A Lagrein of delicacy, balance and unique character." - Daniele Cernilli (Doctor Wine)
