The Orgno Merlot comes from vines that were planted in the vineyard of the same name back in 1978 - a vine age that gives the wine depth, complexity and structure. In the glass, it glows a rich ruby red, while the bouquet beguiles with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, leather, truffles and fine liquorice. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, yet elegant and balanced. The ripe tannin structure gives it fullness and length without heaviness - a wine of great stature and remarkable presence.
As part of the Fasoli brothers' prestige line, Orgno stands for the highest level of precision craftsmanship and a deep understanding of the Valpolicella terroir. The targeted selection of particularly suitable sites, the specific microclimate and the extremely reduced yield result in an exceptional wine with character and expression of origin. The fact that it was deliberately classified as IGT testifies to the pursuit of the greatest possible freedom in its development and an uncompromising demand for quality that is not bound by convention, but by the potential of the vineyard itself. - Gerardo [TS05/17]
