Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2019

  The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from Caparzo is a wine of exceptional elegance and depth, produced exclusively in the best vintages. The grapes come from selected vineyards in the north and south of Montalcino, at altitudes between 220 and 270 meters. The soils, characterized by a sandy-stony structure from the Pliocene, as well as the southern to south-eastern exposure of the vineyards, offer optimal conditions for the Sangiovese grape variety. The grapes are hand-picked and then carefully vinified, with the maceration period extended to up to 15 days in order to maximize the complexity and intensity of the aromas. The wine then matures for at least two years in wood and a further six months in the bottle to develop its full structure and harmony.

In the glass, the Riserva presents itself in a deep ruby red, which turns garnet red as it matures. The bouquet is intense and multi-faceted, with notes of forest fruits accompanied by warm, spicy nuances. Dry, warm and supple on the palate, it impresses with its balance of finesse and power. With an ageing potential of over 35 years, this wine is an excellent accompaniment to game, roasts and mature cheeses.
