  Marchesi Antinori's Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore is a masterpiece of Tuscan winemaking that embodies the elegance and complexity of the Bolgheri terroir. The grape varieties—mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and occasionally Petit Verdot—are cultivated on the characteristic alluvial soils of the Tenuta Guado al Tasso. These soils, ranging from loamy-sandy to loamy-clayey compositions and interspersed with so-called “scheletro” (gravel), offer ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen. The mild climate of the region, favored by its proximity to the sea, allows for slow and even ripening, which gives the wine its depth and structure.

In the glass, Guado al Tasso presents itself in an intense ruby red with purple reflections. The bouquet unfolds aromas of ripe blackcurrants, blackberries, and cherries, accompanied by spicy notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and balanced, with velvety tannins and a lively acidity that gives it freshness. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant fruitiness and subtle spice that reflects its Bolgheri terroir origins.
