Gerardo's Notes: The high quality Sangiovese of Raffaela we carry already for 10 years as a fixed part of our assortment. The talented winemaker who was smiled at by many at the time (first out of skepticism then out of envy), proves year after year a deft hand for Sangiovese from Bertinorio. Their wines from a rather unknown corner of Italy for red wine are delicate, supple and wonderfully drinkable, quite different from the growths from the Sangiovese hotspots. This has recently also been recognized by the trade press (e.g. Meininger Weinwelt) and Raffaela Bissoni has been named a winemaker worth mentioning in Emilia-Romagna.
