Bell' Assai · Frappato di Vittoria DOC 2022

  Bell' Assai - a pure expression of the indigenous Frappato grape variety, vinified in the sun-drenched southeast of Sicily in the Vittoria DOC region by the traditional Donnafugata winery - delights with its lightness and expressiveness. The vines are rooted in sandy loam soils with calcareous subsoil and benefit from the mild sea breeze and noticeable day-night temperature fluctuations, resulting in an elegant fruit profile with a clear origin. Fermentation takes place gently in stainless steel tanks, followed by a short maturation phase; the focus is on freshness, purity, and immediate palate pleasure.

In the glass, Bell' Assai shines in a brilliant ruby red with violet accents—a colorful visual preview of its aroma and style. The nose is carried by lively strawberry and raspberry aromas, complemented by floral notes such as violets and rose petals, as well as a subtle herbaceousness and minerality reminiscent of the Sicilian landscape. On the palate, the wine has a smooth texture, soft tannins, and a pleasant freshness - the finish is light and graceful, with a hint of Mediterranean lightness.
