Sherazade · Nero d'Avola DOC 2021

  The single-varietal Sherazade Nero d'Avola from the Donnafugata winery comes from the sunny hills of Contessa Entellina in southwestern Sicily. Its name symbolizes the artfully told story of the legendary storyteller Scheherazade—full of fruit, spice, and Mediterranean sophistication. The Nero d'Avola grapes are grown mainly at medium altitudes on calcareous and clayey soils and, after careful vinification, are aged in stainless steel tanks, which gives the wine its fresh character and clear varietal and regional characteristics.

In the glass, Sherazade displays a bright ruby red color with violet reflections—a visual indication of youthfulness and vitality. The nose reveals a seductive interplay of aromas of juicy sour cherries and ripe plums, accompanied by subtle spicy notes such as black pepper, floral hints, and balsamic depths. On the palate, this red wine impresses with its soft texture, flattering tannins, and invigorating freshness - while remaining accessible and elegant.
