Pinot-Bianco Venezia Giulia IGT 2023

  Jermann's Pinot Bianco from Friuli is a rare Pinot Blanc with great expressiveness and clear style. It comes from vineyards with southwestern and northeastern exposures, whose soils consist of marl and sandstone, often characterized by “ponca,” a local flysch formation from the Eocene epoch. These soils ensure good drainage and pronounced minerality. The grapes are harvested in September and the wine matures on the lees in stainless steel for about six months, then is stored in the bottle for some time. With about 13% alcohol, an acidity between 5.40 and 6.00 ‰ and a shelf life of three to four years, it shows both substance and freshness.

In the glass, Jermann Pinot Bianco shines in a vibrant straw yellow with golden reflections. Its bouquet is intense, very persistent, and pleasantly fruity, characterized by clearly recognizable melon and ripe yellow fruits. On the palate, it finishes dry with a round, soft character, balanced acidity, and impressive persistence. These characteristics make it a versatile white wine that pairs excellently with regional cuisine starters, sautéed dishes, or seafood, but also complements fine pasta dishes such as pasta e fagioli wonderfully. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
