Feld · Merlot-Cabernet Riserva DOC 2020

  The ‘Feld’ Merlot-Cabernet Riserva from the Kaltern Winery is an expressive red wine that masterfully captures the synergy of two internationally renowned grape varieties. The grapes thrive on south- and east-facing slopes at altitudes between 230 and 350 meters above sea level, where the mild climate and calcareous, sandy soils provide ideal conditions for cultivation. After harvesting, the grape varieties are vinified separately and aged for twelve months in small oak barrels. This is followed by blending and a further maturation phase in large wooden barrels, which gives the wine its complex structure and depth.

In the glass, the ‘Feld’ Merlot-Cabernet Riserva presents itself in an intense garnet red. The bouquet unfolds complex aromas of ripe wild berries and roasted cocoa beans. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with velvety tannins that are in harmonious balance with a lively acidity structure. The long finish rounds off the enjoyable experience.
