Curlan · Blauburgunder Riserva DOC 2018 (6er Holzkiste)

  The “Curlan” Pinot Noir Riserva from the Girlan Winery is an outstanding example of the fine art of Pinot Noir vinification in South Tyrol. The grapes come from three selected plots owned exclusively by the winery, located in the single vineyard of Girlan at about 500 meters above sea level. These sites are characterized by barren, gravelly soils that were sedimented during the Ice Age and offer ideal conditions for Pinot Noir vines. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are gently pressed and the must ferments slowly in stainless steel tanks. The subsequent maturation in barriques for 20 months gives the wine additional depth and complexity. The wine has a storage potential of over ten years and is best enjoyed at a drinking temperature of 14-15°C.

In the glass, the “Curlan” displays an intense ruby red color. The bouquet is complex and elegant, with aromas of wild berries, sour cherries, and a distinct herbal spice. On the palate, the wine is both harmonious and opulent, with a complex structure and well-developed, juicy tannins. This Pinot Noir Riserva is an ideal accompaniment to main courses featuring red meat, roasts, and game, but also pairs excellently with aged cheese. - Gerardo [TS10/19]
