Merlot DOC 2023

  The Merlot from the Tramin Winery is an elegant red wine that showcases the typical characteristics of this grape variety in a South Tyrolean style. The grapes thrive in the hills around Tramin, on calcareous clay soils at altitudes between 250 and 400 meters. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, where malolactic fermentation takes place. Aging in large oak barrels gives the wine additional depth and complexity.

In the glass, the Merlot displays an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The bouquet unfolds aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and a hint of herbs. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and harmonious, with velvety tannins and a balanced freshness. The finish is long and inviting, making this Merlot an ideal accompaniment to hearty meat dishes, game, or mature cheeses. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
