The Cabernet-Sauvignon Riserva Freienfeld impresses with its deep, ruby red color and the delicate brightening at the rim, which subtly announces its maturity. A multi-layered interplay of aromas unfolds on the nose: dark wild berries, nuances of peppermint, fine tobacco and fine Swiss stone pine combine to create a bouquet of impressive freshness and complexity that makes the wine's Alpine origins palpable.
On the palate, the Riserva is powerful but precisely constructed - with firm tannins, lively acidity and a fine wood spice that is perfectly integrated. The wine has remarkable depth and elegance, which is further enhanced by the rigorously selected grapes and careful vinification. With its expressiveness and structure, the Freienfeld is one of the flagships of South Tyrolean red wine year after year and also promises impressive ageing potential. - Gerardo [TS10/18]

The soft, sweet tannins and dark color result from several days of maceration.
