Terre Lontane · Val di Neto Rosato IGT 2025

  The name Terre Lontane - whose native Gaglioppo grapes blend perfectly with the 'foreign' grapes of Cabernet-Franc - owes its name to this very combination of 'foreign lands'. There are serious indications that this wine is among the best and most interesting Rosato's of Southern Italy - and never among the most expensive. A few more words about the vinification of this Rosato: after the grapes are destemmed, they undergo gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The grape skins remain on the must for 12 hours. Real Roséwine is produced in a similar way to white wine, except that the must is allowed to rest and ferment for a few hours so that some of the colorants are released from the skins. This Rosato is one of the classics in the Italian wine depot and in some years is even more popular than the cheaper Ciro Rosato from Librandi. - Gerardo [TS10/26]
