  The “Roat Mitterberg Cuvée” from the Merano Winery is a charming yet characterful red wine cuvée that expresses the terroir of South Tyrol's Merano region with a carefully selected blend of grape varieties. Composed of Vernatsch, Pinot Noir, and Merlot, the wine combines the lightness and freshness of the Vernatsch grape with the elegant finesse of Pinot Noir and the velvety depth of Merlot. The grapes come from the slopes of the Mitterberg vineyard, where the limestone- and gravel-rich soil and the alpine climate give the wine a distinctive character. Controlled maceration and subtle aging in oak barrels achieve a balance between fruitiness, structure, and style.

In the glass, Roat displays a clear ruby red color with subtle violet reflections—a first indication of its freshness and finesse. The nose reveals aromas of red berries, ripe cherries, and a hint of spicy herbs, accompanied by delicate notes of wood and tobacco leaf. On the palate, the wine is soft and supple, with gentle tannins and a charming fruitiness carried by a lively freshness.
