The South Tyrolean Lagrein Sand has a deep garnet-red color in the glass with violet reflections - a characteristic feature of this grape variety. © www.nalsmargreid.com The “Sand” Lagrein from Nals-Margreid is a characterful red wine made from 100% local Lagrein grapes. The vines thrive on sandy, porphyry-rich soils in the municipality of Gries near Bolzano, which are characterized by their good drainage and heat absorption. After selective hand harvesting, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with gentle pumping over. The wine is then aged for seven months in 40hl wooden barrels, which gives it structure and complexity.
