The South Tyrolean Sauvignon Gennen unfolds with a racy freshness and a clearly defined structure that is characterized by the deep, gravelly soils of its terroir. These give the wine a distinctive mineral salinity that makes it particularly full of character. Aromatically, it displays an impressive richness that is rounded off by fruity notes of elderberry, grapefruit and citrus fruits.
On the palate, it is lively yet balanced, with a fresh, pleasant finish that lingers for a long time. The Sauvignon Gennen is an excellent aperitif wine that also goes well with vegetable dishes and fish. © www.nalsmargreid.com The “Gennen” Sauvignon from the Nals-Margreid Winery has its roots in the limestone- and porphyry-rich soils of Nals (330-400 m above sea level), which form under a debris cone up to 150 m deep. The grapes are harvested by hand, gently processed, and aged on the fine lees in stainless steel for around seven months, resulting in an elegant structure and clear minerality.
In the glass, the wine displays a vibrant straw yellow color with green reflections. The nose is dominated by peach and gooseberry, accompanied by green pepper and a peppery note. On the palate, Gennen Sauvignon impresses with its lively freshness, pronounced minerality, and delicate spice—a stylish interpretation of the Sauvignon Blanc type for mature accompaniment flavors. - Gerardo [TS10/25]
