Primitivo Salento IGT 2023

  Rivera's Primitivo Salento appears in the glass in a deep ruby red with sparkling garnet reflections that herald its maturity and fullness. The nose reveals an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, accompanied by spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla, and a hint of cocoa, which are enhanced by aging in oak barrels. There are also subtle floral nuances and a slight mineral note, reflecting the character of the calcareous soils of the Salento peninsula.

On the palate, the wine is powerful yet elegant and balanced. The tannins are round and well integrated, the fruit notes remain juicy and intense, while the lively acidity provides freshness. Particularly noteworthy is the historical and cultural significance of the Primitivo grape variety in Apulia, which is closely linked to the region's ancient wine traditions.
