Locorotondo DOC 2023

Locorotondo is the name of an Italian municipality in Puglia and also the name of a famous white wine of this area. Equal parts of Verdeca and Bianco d'Alessandro give rise to this pleasantly fresh aperitif wine. The color is of a pale, delicate straw yellow. The bouquet is fruity and somewhat reminiscent of hay. Primitivo Salento IGT 2022

Classically proportioned Primitivo with a ruby red color and violet reflections. Typical fruity notes and jammy hints on the nose. Impressions of dark chocolate on the palate, quite acidic and with present tannins. - Gerardo [TS03/23]

Salice Salentino DOC 2021

Classically kept Salice Salentino from predominantly Negroamaro with a small injection of Malvasia Nera. Vigorous ruby color and intense aroma of black and red fruits. On the palate, it is tannic with a subtle bitterness. It is probably the most famous red wine from Puglia. Rivera's version is dry and rich, well structured and sophisticated. - Gerardo [TS03/22]

Preludio No 1 · Chardonnay del Castel del Monte DOC 2023

Classic Chardonnay from the Castel del Monte growing area: intense straw yellow color in the glass. Aroma of citrus, pear and peach blossom. The palate is full-bodied, fruity and with a subtle minerality. - Gerardo [TS03/24]

Sauvignon Terre al Monte DOC 2023

The well-known grape variety Sauvignon is traditionally grown also in Puglia, where it achieves good results: Strong, bright straw yellow color in the glass. Pungirosa · Castel del Monte Bombino Nero Rosato DOCG 2023

Violante · Nero di Troia DOC 2020

Cappellaccio · Aglianico Riserva DOC 2017

Pure varietal Aglianico of strong ruby color and garnet reflections. Intense aroma, with typical Aglianico spice and impressions of prunes, black pepper, wood spice and some leather. On the palate of good density and structure and integrated tannins, persistent. - Gerardo [TS03/18]

"The delightful Castel del Monte Aglianico Riserva Cappellaccio is one of the best expressions of this noble Italian grape made in Puglia. Aglianico is associated with the regions of Campania and Basilicata, but has been making its way into Puglian winemaking in recent years. This balanced vintage opens to dark fruit aromas with background notes of cola, licorice and blue flower. Aglianico normally shows strong mineral characteristics and you get some of those dusty tones of granite and slate here. They remain very much in the background." - Robert Parker

"The Castel del Monte Il Falcone Riserva does a great job of highlighting the Nero di Troia element of this blend. The wine is composed of 70% Nero di Troia and 30% Montepulciano, but with this balanced vintage we get a better view of this special native grape of Puglia. The bouquet boasts a wild side with bramble, forest berry and pressed violets. Other aromatic components include toasted nut, licorice and tar. The tannins are softly polished and help to give the wine a silky texture. This may be the best vintage of Il Falcone Riserva that I have come across." - Robert Parker
