Negroamaro Salento IGT 2022

  Rivera's Negroamaro Salento IGT presents itself in the glass with a deep ruby red color that immediately reveals its character and depth. The nose is dominated by dark berries such as blackberries and sour cherries, accompanied by subtle hints of licorice, which are typical of the Negroamaro variety. There is a subtle spiciness, barely noticeable but still present, which gives the wine a pleasant complexity in the aroma.

On the palate, this wine shows a harmonious balance between fruitiness and structure: the juicy berry fruit is supported by lively acidity, which gives the wine freshness, while the tannins are present but softly integrated. The finish is long and full of character, marked by a slightly bitter, typical finale that gives the Negroamaro grape variety its name - “amaro” means bitter. A special feature of this wine lies in its origin: Negroamaro is one of Apulia's most classic grape varieties and develops its characteristic spice and depth here in the Salento climate on calcareous soils, making it an authentic expression of its homeland. - Gerardo
