Kalterersee Auslese Classico DOC 2023

  The Kalterersee Auslese Classico from the Schreckbichl Winery is a prime example of the elegance and freshness of South Tyrolean wine culture. This single-varietal Vernatsch comes from the best vineyards around Lake Kaltern, where the vines thrive at altitudes between 410 and 440 meters above sea level on calcareous, sandy soils. After classic maceration, the wine matures for around four months in concrete tanks, which gives it a clear freshness and structure. The absence of oak aging preserves the pure fruit and typical aromas of this grape variety.

In the glass, Kalterersee Auslese Classico displays a bright ruby red color. The bouquet seduces with intense aromas of red berries such as cherries, raspberries, and currants, accompanied by a hint of white pepper and floral nuances. On the palate, the wine is juicy and medium-bodied, with a fine, velvety tannin structure and a lively, fresh acidity that makes it very drinkable.
