The Cabernet Sauvignon 'Lafòa' is a jewel among the top South Tyrolean wines and enjoys international renown: this red wine, coming from the family vineyard of Luis Raifer, is produced year after year with great care in vineyard and cellar. Deep, violet-red color as well as aromatic bouquet of currants and blackberries. Underpinned by wild herbs and fine wood notes. On the palate, the grippy tannins are noticeable, giving the wine a stable backbone. - Gerardo [TS06/18]
Gerardo's Notes: The Lafòa vineyard is located on a hill between Girlan and Schreckbichl - a dry, sun-exposed site. The rather poor, sandy-gravelly moraine soil is a guarantee for independent white and red wines of powerful structure and finesse. Very deep purple/black color. High density bouquet, chassis, blackberries. Very powerful yet elegant attack, densely concentrated tannins on the palate, powerful backbone and enormously long finish. High aging potential of 10 to 15 years.
