Lafòa · Chardonnay DOC 2023

  The “Lafòa” Chardonnay from the Schreckbichl Winery embodies the fine art of South Tyrolean viticulture and represents the top quality of the renowned “Lafòa” line. The name “Lafòa” refers to a pilot vineyard where new standards for quality and grape variety selection were set in the 1980s. It was here that the idea arose to produce wines of exceptional elegance and longevity through reduced yields and selective harvesting. Chardonnay thrives in the best locations in South Tyrol, where the combination of barren moraine soils and an ideal microclimate creates optimal conditions for the ripening of this demanding grape variety. After harvesting, the grapes are gently processed, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks and barriques, which gives the wine additional depth and complexity.

In the glass, Lafòa Chardonnay presents itself in a bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet seduces with aromas of ripe mango, honeydew melon, apricot, and roasted hazelnuts, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla and oak spice. On the palate, it is full and harmonious, with a lively acidity that gives it remarkable freshness. The finish is long and characterized by a subtle minerality that reflects the wine's origin.
