The single-varietal Lagrein from the renowned vineyards of the Bolzano-Gries region is a powerful yet elegant representative of this indigenous grape variety. Its deep garnet red color with violet reflections already gives an idea of its intensity, which is confirmed in the bouquet with notes of violets, cinnamon, dark cherries and a hint of vanilla. Ageing in large oak barrels gives the wine additional depth and structure.
On the palate, the Lagrein develops a dense fruitiness with aromas of ripe wild berries and black cherries. The distinctive yet well-integrated acidity provides freshness and balance, while soft tannins ensure a pleasant drinking flow. © www.colterenzio.it The Lagrein from the Schreckbichl Winery is an impressive expression of one of South Tyrol's oldest grape varieties, which is native to the Alto Adige region. The grapes thrive in the best locations around Girlan, where the interplay of alpine climate and Mediterranean influences creates ideal conditions for growing this indigenous variety. After harvesting, the grapes are gently processed and the wine is aged in large wooden barrels to develop its structure and complexity.
In the glass, Lagrein is a deep garnet red with violet reflections. The bouquet seduces with aromas of dark berries such as blackberries and blueberries, accompanied by spicy notes of black pepper and a hint of cocoa. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and velvety, with a fine tannin structure and a lively freshness that perfectly complements the fruit aromas.
