Primitivo Cabernet-Sauvignon Puglia IGT 2020

  Named after the Greek god of war, the Ares Rosso from Masseria Surani is a powerful homage to the ancient history of Puglia, where the culture of Magna Graecia still lives on in the vineyards of Manduria. This fascinating blend combines the indigenous soul of Primitivo with the international structure of Cabernet Sauvignon to create a modern wine style that reinterprets the region's tradition. On the nose, this successful partnership reveals itself through a dense bouquet, where the typical southern warmth of stewed dark berries meets the fine, slightly herbal spice and vegetal notes of the Cabernet.

On the palate, the terroir of the iron-rich 'Terra Rossa' is reflected, giving the vines strength, while careful vinification in stainless steel tanks preserves the primary fruitiness and freshness. This method ensures soft, accessible tannins that make the wine appear full-bodied but never heavy, resulting in an extremely drinkable red wine.
