  The “Guidalberto” from the renowned Tenuta San Guido is an artfully composed cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, grown in the exceptional terroir of Bolgheri, which is characterized by its southern exposure and maritime influences. The wine bears the name of its historic ancestor Guidalberto della Gherardesca, who revolutionized the region in the 19th century with new cultivation techniques. The grapes are harvested with great care, fermentation takes place with selected yeasts, and the wine is then aged for around 15 months in new and used barriques from France and America - a process that produces a fine balance of fruit, elegance, and structure.

In the glass, Guidalberto reveals a deep ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose unfolds densely woven aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and ripe cherry, interwoven with hints of cedar wood, pepper, and Mediterranean herbs—a bouquet that makes its Bolgheri origins palpable. On the palate, it impresses with its smooth texture, finely meshed tannins, and a mineral undertone that gives the wine depth and tension.
