Campagnola | Veneto
Even some connoisseurs will be surprised when reading the production figures of the House of Campagnola: After all, several million bottles is no mean feat even among large wineries, especially when production is consistently at a decent level. Giuseppe Campagnola's winery has only a few vineyards of its own, but is already rooted in the region in the fourth generation and thus has the best relationships with local winegrowers. Using the grapes supplied, Campagnola produces here an inexpensive and beginner-friendly red wine from the Corvina and the Merlot grape, which is often found in this region. in addition, the white classics such as Garganega and Chardonnay are cultivated. In addition to the basic wines of the region, where nothing is missing from Custoza to Bardolino, from Gambellara to Valpolicella, the company from Valgatara also fills two prestige lines. - Gerardo
"To see Campagnola as a simple farm would certainly not do justice to the winery. But the closeness to the earth is palpable, whether in conversation with Gisueppe or in the type determinations of the local wines. The bulk of the massive red Valpolicella production comes from Purano and the rest of the Marano Valley, which is a common thread, so to speak, through the range." - Gambero Rosso

Campagnola | Veneto | gerardo.de
Behind the name Giuseppe Campagnola stands a renowned winery and cellar, which is already in its fourth generation as a family business in the Veneto. The winery is located in Valgatara, in the small town of Marano the Valpolicella, in the middle of the classic Valpolicella growing area. The long-established winery was founded as early as 1886 by Carlo Campagnola and received the first official award for the best Recioto sweet wine at the 'Mostra di Campionaria di Verona' in 1907. In 1946, his son Giuseppe founded the current winery in Via Agnella in Valgatara and began producing and selecting classic Veronese wines. Gisueppe Campagnola followed the tradition of the classic viticulture of the region: the grapes supplied by 50 contract farmers come from a total of 80 hectares of the region and are selected for quality. In addition, the winery has numerous partners in neighboring regions such as Bardolino Classico and in Soave. In addition to the representative private selections, Campagnola offers a wide range of wines, both from Veneto and from various other regions of Italy. - Gerardo
"Sometimes platitudes are not tenable after all, such as the one about the incompatibility between class and mass. In Marano, Giuseppe Campagnola processes vast quantities of grapes, only a small part of which, however, comes from his own harvest. The majority comes from contract growers in the Marano Valley, who are supported by the company's employees throughout the season. The extensive range is divided into several lines, with Veronese wines forming the upscale segment." - Gambero Rosso
