Lugana Riserva Molceo is vinified from late-harvested Trebbiano di Lugana grapes and then aged for one year in barrique barrels. The color is a clear golden yellow. The aroma is flattering with notes of exotic fruits, flowers and spices. The bouquet is further accented by some vanilla and honey aromas, which become more pronounced as the wine matures. Soft and lively on the palate, with a creamy texture and fine mineral components. Always of fascinating length. - Gerardo [TS02/21]

Gerardo's Notes: Molceo is a Lugana Spätlese and, with its rather opulent nature, is somewhat unusual for this grape variety: however, one would not expect a light terraced wine in this class, but a barrique-aged white wine with backbone. The complexity of the Molceo is fascinating and even more fun with increasing maturity. From my words, the wine is suitable for aging and should definitely be stored. The tertiary aromas only come into their own with some maturity, melding with the wood aromatics to form a greater whole. Molceo has also already earned Ottella plenty of acclaim from the international trade press.
