With the Studio project, Ca' Rugate is exploring new limits in winemaking. This single-varietal Trebbiano di Soave comes from vines that are over 40 years old and pushes the boundaries of what is possible: The fermentation process deliberately progresses slowly and part of the wine is aged in French barriques before being bottled and further refined due to subsequent bottle ageing.
Ca' Rugate is breaking new ground with this study of the Veneto terroir, and it will certainly not be the last. Intense straw yellow color. On the nose, a bouquet of pout pourri and green tea with light notes of white-fleshed fruit and flint. The palate is enveloping, dense but not heavy. The aromatic freshness is well absorbed by the nose and leads to a rich and long finish. - Gerardo [TS10/15]
