  The Antico Gregori Vernaccia di Oristano from the Az. Vinicola Contini winery in Sardinia is a high-quality white wine with character: it is produced using a traditional solera-like method, the base of which dates back to the early years of the last century. The Vernaccia di Oristano grape variety - vinified here as a single variety - is typically aged oxidatively in small oak or chestnut barrels, giving the wine depth, complexity, and an unmistakable character of its origin. The name itself - “Antico Gregori” - refers to the region's historic wine tradition and signals that this is a wine that takes time and has a distinctive character.

In the glass, it displays a mature, amber or golden yellow color with warm reflections—a visual indication of its mature nature and barrel aging. The nose reveals aromas of toasted almonds and hazelnuts, dried apricots, orange peel, and a hint of cake and nutty aromas, carried by a spicy-salty undertone that hints at the Mediterranean terroir near the sea. On the palate, the wine presents itself with a velvety texture, elegant maturity, and remarkable length: the fruit is ripe, yet in service of the structure; a fine note of oxidation, mineral nuances, and a restrained bitterness on the finish lend tension and depth to the experience.
