  The “Epokale Gewürztraminer Spätlese” from the Tramin winery in South Tyrol embodies the aromatics of the variety at the highest level: the nose reveals a lush bouquet of rose petals, lavender, lychee, and exotic fruits such as mango and passion fruit, accompanied by noble spicy notes of saffron, cinnamon, and ginger. On the palate, the wine surprises with a delicate residual sweetness that blends harmoniously with a delicate freshness and salty minerality—the result of grapes grown on the limestone- and porphyry-rich gravel soil high above Tramin, which have reached optimal ripeness under alpine conditions.

The name “Epokale” refers to the timelessness and dignity inherent in the wine—it follows a stylistic tradition that takes Gewürztraminer back to its place of origin and is dedicated to its aromatic depth and aging potential. After an initial aging phase in stainless steel, the wine matured for several years in a disused mine tunnel environment, allowing its structure, depth, and elegance to unfold in an extraordinary way.
