The classic Valpolicella Ripasso is made from hand-picked grapes from the estate's own vineyards, which are among the highest in the Valpolicella area. It is a high quality Valpolicella Ripasso with bite and tonicity that recalls dried fruit on the nose and complex aromas on the palate, although the wine is also lighter than Amarone della Valpolicella. - Gerardo [TS01/18]
Gerardo's Notes: 'Unpressed grape skins from Amarone production are added to the already fermented Valpolicella. This ripasso process adds alcohol and structure to this wine and allows for medium-term aging. '
